Hezekiah Bushong (1845-1903)

Hezekiah Bushong was the son of Jonathon and Malinda (Slaybaugh) Bushong.  He was born in Stark Co., Ohio on June 22, 1845.  
Hezekiah was a veteren of the Civil War.  He enlisted on February 15, 1865.  He mustered into "A" Co. 152nd Indiana Infantry on February 15, 1865. He mustered out on May 29, 1865.  You can see his name on the roster at:  http://www.civilwarindex.com/armyin/soldiers/152nd_in_infantry_soldiers.pdf 
He married Minerva Kirkendall on May 7, 1868. Minerva was the daughter of Archibald and Eunice (Nice) Kirkendall.  She died on July 30, 1921.
Together they had 8 children:
Ida May (Bushong) Gunderman - (07 Feb 1868- 23 Jan 1954)
Charles Bushong - (1871-1968)
Elnora "Nora" (Bushong) Lavering/Haller/Phoebus/Darr/Booth - (1872-1958)
Sarah Etta (Bushong) Cooper/Shaw - (1875-1943)
Malinda "Linnie" (Bushong) Klopenstein - (1878-1957) 
William Archibald Bushong - (1880-1956)
Mary Alice "Allie" (Bushong) Lingofelt- (1883-   )
John Henry Bushong - (1886-1964)

Hezekiah passed away on July 22, 1903 at the age of 57. 
News Notes
Hezekiah Bushong died Wednesday evening at his home three miles west of Syracuse. He had been sick about a year with cancer of the stomach. The funeral was held at the church of God, of which church he had been a member many years, on Friday.

MORTUARY RECORD.
Hezekiah Bushong, a prominent Kosciusko county farmer, died at his home mid-way between Syracuse and Milford Thursday morning. Aside from his wife he leaves several daughters and two sons, Charles, of near Syracuse, and William, who resides in the vicinity of New Paris. Deceased was a highly respected farmer.
