Ida May (Bushong) Gunderman (1868-1954)

Ida May was the daughter of Hezekiah and Minervia Bushong.  She was born on February 7, 1868 in Kosciusko County, Indiana. 

Ida married William Melvin Gunderman (1862-1940) on July 3, 1887.

Together they had 3 children:

Charles H. Gunderman - (1888-1918)

Cleo May (Gunderman) Lingofelter - (1890-1936)

Mabel Irene (Gunderman) Wolferman - (1902-1975)

Ida May died on January 23, 1954 at the age of 85.

Week End Activities for the 105th Bushong Reunion

Plans are being finalized for the many activities going on over the Reunion Week End.  Please stop back again and we will give details.

***Potawatomi Park Pavillion #4 is very near the splash pad.  So be sure to pack a suit and towel for your children if that is something they would be interested in.  There is also a public pool nearby if the older kids want to go swimming.

1915 Reunion (3rd annual)

The 3rd annual reunion of the Hezekiah and Minervia Bushong family was held at Hezekiah and Minervia's home.

Hezekiah Bushong (1845-1903)

Hezekiah Bushong was the son of Jonathon and Malinda (Slaybaugh) Bushong.  He was born in Stark Co., Ohio on June 22, 1845.  

Hezekiah was a veteren of the Civil War.  He enlisted on February 15, 1865.  He mustered into "A" Co. 152nd Indiana Infantry on February 15, 1865. He mustered out on May 29, 1865.  You can see his name on the roster at:  http://www.civilwarindex.com/armyin/soldiers/152nd_in_infantry_soldiers.pdf 

He married Minerva Kirkendall on May 7, 1868. Minerva was the daughter of Archibald and Eunice (Nice) Kirkendall.  She died on July 30, 1921.

Together they had 8 children:

Hezekiah passed away on July 22, 1903 at the age of 57. 

News Notes
Hezekiah Bushong died Wednesday evening at his home three miles west of Syracuse. He had been sick about a year with cancer of the stomach. The funeral was held at the church of God, of which church he had been a member many years, on Friday.

MORTUARY RECORD.
Hezekiah Bushong, a prominent Kosciusko county farmer, died at his home mid-way between Syracuse and Milford Thursday morning. Aside from his wife he leaves several daughters and two sons, Charles, of near Syracuse, and William, who resides in the vicinity of New Paris. Deceased was a highly respected farmer.
